Overview of department:
For this role, we are seeking an experienced FPGA design and verification engineer (~4+ years), to support the development of our growing portfolio of complex FPGA projects. The current portfolio ranges from advanced signal processing systems (Image\Radio), core embedded processing systems, through to safety & security critical systems.
Responsibilities:
The role involves working at all phases of the FPGA design and verification cycle; hence, the candidate would be responsible some of the following key activities:
• Generating complex FPGA architectures and design implementations (VHDL, Simulink etc), targeting Xilinx, Intel, Microsemi devices.
• Verifying complex FPGA implementations using VHDL and System Verilog\UVM test-bench methodologies.
• Using FPGA design toolsets and Mentor verification tools (QuestaSim & ModelSim).
• Generating low-level software (C) to facilitate FPGA test and integration with the wider embedded system.
• Configuring and Documenting designs to a high professional standard.
• Working as part of a multidiscipline team to deliver complex FPGA based projects.
Skillset/experience required:
• Ideally we are looking for candidates that are degree qualified (or equivalent) with significant experience in FPGA development.
• Competent VHDL Language and Design Skills.
• Competent Verification Skills using VHDL and SystemVerilog methodologies
• A deep proven level of experience designing for Xilinx, Intel or Microsemi FPGAs
• Experience of professionally configuring and documenting designs

We are looking for an Engineer (Software)to support operational plants across the entire site delivering maintenance, plant support and software modifications to industrial control systems, primarily Programable Electronic Systems (PES).

Role responsibilities:
- Ability to perform complex system modifications without supervision. This may include, but is not limited to, the preparation of requirements specifications; validation tests; impact analysis; technical reviews; support to PMP production
- Perform temporary and permanent software modifications to PES in line with QMS arrangements.
- Perform unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance recoveries to the SEP machine Control Systems as part of the local team to significant (safety, quality, environmental) systems and/or technically challenging systems without supervision
- Assist the Team Manager in the preparation of support activities.
- Perform the PES Manager role for complex PES with key functionality or several less complex systems in accordance with PES management arrangements.
- Mentor and tutor Control Systems trainees, apprentices, less experienced engineers and individuals from the Operating Units such as craft and system operators.
- Provide specialist technical and engineering advice and support to plant maintenance teams, engineering teams (system, equipment & stream engineers), customers and stakeholders
- Demonstrate an understanding of different PES technology interactions and the interface to plant and process.
Knowledge & Experience
•Control Systems, instrumentation, CE&I or software background.
•Can provide evidence of an ability to work in an operating plant environment delivering structured maintenance activities, control systems, and system improvements.
•Preferably can provide evidence of previous plant process knowledge and experience.
•Demonstrable evidence of working in teams.
Essential Skills
•HNC or higher qualification in an electrical, electronic or software related subject and/or suitable experience.
•Can provide evidence of an expert knowledge of one or more of a variety of PES technologies including PLC, SCADA, DCS, MIS/HLS, SQL Server, Modicon M and Networks.
•Can provide evidence of an understanding and application of the PES modification lifecycle, including both temporary and permanent software modifications.
•Good communications skills with the ability to interact at all levels providing advice, guidance and training across the local team and Plant facing support and operations teams.

Nuclear Commissioning Engineer
Security Cleared Nuclear Commissioning Engineer required to join a leading company in Plymouth.
Principal tasks and responsibilities are:
- To ensure the safe operation of all plant and processes under their control and to comply with the Nuclear Site Licence and Mod Authorisation Condition (LC/AC).
- To supervise and direct industrial staff during the commissioning of nuclear submarine systems and equipment to time, cost and quality, ensuring that all rework is identified and recorded.
- Ensuring that all activities conform to professional engineering standards, quality orders, Nuclear and Submarine safety constraints.
- Informing Senior Test Engineers in the event of any significant delays or any untoward events which occur.
- The inspection, testing, calibration and commissioning of systems and equipment in accordance with authorised documentation, carrying out fault diagnosis and proposing corrective solutions.
- Identifying and recording defects/deficiencies ensuring that all emergent work is correctly recognised.
- Maintaining a close liaison with Ship Staff, Project and Production personnel so that any possible conflicts in testing and safety implications to the submarine can be readily identified and resolved.
- Implementing the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, Dose Reduction Technique and ALARP principles when conducting tests.
- Radiation Protection Supervisor duties when appointed by Plant Manager.
- To ensure that the potential radiological dose for all tasks both undertaken by his staff and prescribed by the Test Groups has been assessed, and is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP). To ensure that the radiological doses accrued by his staff are managed within Company guidelines, are ALARP and wherever possible are shared equally between staff.
- To carry out the role of Test Director or Nuclear Procedure Co-ordinator when nominated by the Test Group or PAG as appropriate.
- Researching and compiling Test Documentation in accordance with the Test Index ensuring that the requirements of the Work Specification are understood and included, and paying due regard to the relevant Corporate Documentation and associated Plant Safety Reports/Cases.
Interfacing Responsibilities
For the principal tasks and responsibilities identified in Sectito be carried out and discharged effectively, there are a number of limited responsibilities of other groups or persons that must also be discharged. Principal amongst these are:
- The Health Physics Group to take receipt of primary circuit discharge and other radioactive waste and to provide radiological protection services.
- The Facilities Manager to provide electrical and mechanical overside services.
- Production Centres to provide system/equipment handovers to enable testing/commissioning to proceed in accordance with project programmes.
- Project Teams to provide LOP(R) plans/programmes and information on all changes.
- Ships Staff representatives to co-ordinate and witness commissioning activities.

The selected DevOps Engineer is expected to have excellent knowledge of French and Dutch and have experience with Java to work with our client as a DevOps Engineer. It is essential that the DevOps Engineer chosen for the role can use middleware operations in CI/CD and is assesses risks and identifies critical service and system dependencies to fulfil their duties as a DevOps Engineer.

What is expected of the DevOps Engineer? - Role and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the project planning activities
- Designs and develops new/changed services to meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Assesses risks and identifies critical service and system dependencies linked to the new/ change service requests
- Designs the release package and establishes the final release configuration, including knowledge, information, hardware, software and infrastructure
