Endeavour Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Risk Officer for an initial 6 month contract with further extensions. The role is for a client in Brussels and paying €600 per day, reporting to Chief Information Security & Data protection Officer
Responsibilities:
- The function of Risk Officer is all about avoiding threats and mitigating the effects of those which are essentially unavoidable.
- The risk Officer assesses and identifies any potential risks that could hinder the reputation, safety, financial prosperity, security or existence of the company. Once potential risks are identified, the risk officer implements processes and procedures to ensure the company is prepared to deal with the potential risks.
- Focussing on conducting detailed risk assessments, involving analysing documents, statistics, reports and market trends. As a risk officer, you will also be required to assess the organization’s previous / current risk management policies and protocols.
- You will also need to have the ability to build relationships with your stakeholders, produce risk reports based on your findings, attend meetings and present your proposals to senior members of staff.
- Risk Management, planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organisation;
- Performing company-wide risk assessments, which involves analysing risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business. Building and monitoring a risk registry.
- Risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organisation such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organisation's previous handling of risks.
- Establishing and quantifying the organisation's 'risk appetite', i.e. the level of risk they are prepared to accept.
- Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, for example, to the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks.
- Corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders.
- Carrying out processes such as purchasing insurance, implementing health and safety measures and making business continuity plans to limit risks and prepare for if things go wrong.
- Conducting audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors.
- Providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organisation.
- Contributing to the definition and maintenance of the necessary tools for risk management.
- Participating in drafting, consolidating and following-up of action plans.
- Responsible for following on all insurance policies.
- Coordinate, monitor and challenge the processes and methodologies at corporate level, in order to ensure they are aligned. Make sure they are in line with the strategy and that they optimize the way of working and collaboration between departments.
Knowledge & Experience:
- A required level of education which corresponds to completed university studies in risk management, finance, economics, business administration and management or a certification in risk management.
- Expert analytical skills and a good eye for detail.
- Planning and organisation skills.
- Numerical skills and the ability to evaluate costs.
- Technical acumen pertaining to Cyber security domains
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, professional and diplomatic attitude, with commercial awareness enabling the ability to understand broad business issues.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to influence people.
- Work under pressure and make calculated decisions under pressure.
