Endeavour Recruitment has an excellent permanent opportunity for a Release Manager with QA experience to join a house hold name in Liverpool.
Responsibilities:
Overall management and leadership of the European and American Release Management teams
- Support, advocate and align with the executive level goals from SIE, WWS, Global Platform (GP) and WWS QA
- Advocate broader Engineering/WWS QA services with studio stakeholders where necessary
- Maintain a rolling 3 year strategic plan, anticipating and reacting to changes in the technology, business, internal and external environments
- Monitors overall work processes and standard procedures to ensure team performance is to company and industry standards. Stays knowledgeable of program and project delivery and important emerging delivery risks and timeframe changes to mitigate impacts to overall release schedule execution
- Develop and maintain an appropriate organisational structure capable of supporting all customers, technologies, and business strategies through the appropriate use of quality standards and cost controls
- Develop and implement comprehensive release strategies to ensure adequate quality standards, communication, risk assessment, processes and controls are met within the organisation
- Collaborate with WWS, support groups, Format QA and Operations during the Software Development Lifecycle in order to provide an outstanding level of service and support
- Provide technical, tactical, strategic, individual and team leadership and planning to the Release Management Team
- Develop and support staff through ongoing training programs, quarterly reviews, talent mapping, coaching, differentiated planning, conference/seminar attendance, succession management etc
- Managing risks, and issues related to the new or changed service and take corrective action
- Capture and utilize RM metrics to drive continuous process improvements within the Release Management team
- Global Process and methodology development, collaboration and alignment with Release Management counterpart.
- Oversee various projects across multiple teams and locations
- Technical Qualifications:
- Subject matter expertise in console content Release Management discipline within a large enterprise with understanding of PC and mobile release processes across key platforms
- Knowledge of SIE internal and off the shelf Release Management tools and methodologies supporting 100+ production deliveries a year
- Technical project management experience in a dynamic high-technology environment
- ITIL Prince 2 (or equivalent), Agile and/or Six Sigma experience desired
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills: Visio, Project, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

- Ability to excel in ambiguous business situations by adapting plans and approach
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering projects in a fast paced environment

- Advanced verbal and written communication skills, facilitation leadership and presentation, able to communicate at an Executive level
- Ability to effectively communicate strategies, policies, and RM Operational trends throughout the organisation
- Planning and Implementation:
- Ability to develop, coordinate, and guide strategic operational plans in support of the overall mission and business strategy
- Work with process stakeholders and SME?s to manage the design, documentation and implementation of release processes.
- Ability to diagnose process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools
- Financial Management
- Develops and maintains the annual operating and capital budgets for the RM functions in American and Europe
- Adheres to corporate and departmental policies and standards aimed at minimizing costs and cost efficiency
- Ability to monitor activities and costs related to the overall utilization of resources required to meet operational requirements
- Required Experience / Education:
- At least 4 years of leadership experience in a software development organisation
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Relevant experience in the gaming industry or software development company
- Experience of working and leading internationally an advantage
