Endeavour Recruitment has an exciting 6-month contract for a SQL Developer with strong classic ASP skills.
The role includes all phases of the development life cycle (architecture, design, development, implementation, test and deployment).
The role is 50% SQL / T-SQL Development and 50% Application Development.
Responsibilities:
• Transactional SQL / T-SQL changes to produce reporting data.
• Development of new screens and functionality of internal systems utilising classic ASP and SQL knowledge.
• Interpret internal customer requirements, producing technical specifications, development of specified enhancements, test plans and evidence of testing.
• Development and support of SQL stored procedures.
• Review and enhance existing jobs, procedures, reports and third party integration.
• Assist Web Development team with SQL integration with the Website(s)
Essential Skills:
• Application Development.
• Hands on experience of developing high volume transactional DB for websites / systems
• Knowledge on how to implement Stored Procedures, Jobs, Functions, Triggers and Cursors, Views and Indexing using SQL using SQL Server 2008 – 2012.
• Full software development life cycle with strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in developing with TSQL (Transact-SQL), VB / VB6, Classic ASP, .NET
• MS office skills, especially Excel
• Structured, logical and analytical thinker with good commercial awareness and passionate about new technologies
Desirable skills:
• Experience of the leisure or travel industry
• Creating software testing protocols
• SQL Server performance, configuration &maintenance
• Experience in financial reporting
• Knowledge of CLR and C#
• Experience of SSRS and data warehouses
